2020 Summer Soil ID Course – Williams Lake

The 2020 Summer Soil Course will be held June 9-11, 2020 in Williams Lake!

The course is limited to 20 participants. Preference will be given to those who live or work in the Williams Lake area. The remaining spots will be “first-come, first-serve”.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completing this course, participants will know how to:

  • texture a soil
  • dig a soil pit for description and interpretation purposes
  • differentiate and describe horizons
  • interpret soils and landscapes for possible land uses using a basic approach

Closer to the event date, everyone who registered will receive an update about their registration status as well as information on how to pay the course fee. We are closely monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic, and are still hopeful we will be able to continue the Summer Soil ID Course. In the event that due to COVID-19, if we are unable to provide the course a full refund will be issued.


  • $100 – students
  • $200 – professionals

To attend the course you must be a 2019/2020 PRSSS member (membership fees are $10 for students and $20 for professionals). If you attended the 2020 Spring Workshop and AGM, your event fee included your PRSSS membership.
