2021 Spring Workshop and AGM – Diversity in Soils: Environmental, Social, and Economic Effects

DATE: Saturday, March 6, 2021

In the 2021 Spring Workshop and AGM we featured soil scientists and experts from many disciplines discussing key issues related to Diversity in Soils: Environmental, Social, and Economic effects in a changing world.

Registration

Registration cost was $15 for students and $50 for non-students. The price included registration and a PRSSS annual membership for 2021/2022. The 2022/2022 membership registration cycle lasts from April 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022.

We provided free registration if people were unable to pay the registration fee as Soil Science is for everyone, and cost should not be a barrier to education. If you identify as Indigenous and would like to attend the event, we waived the registration fee to reflect the fact that the soils we study are on stolen land, therefore all soil science research should be openly available to Indigenous peoples.

Registration closed Friday March 5, 2021 at midnight.

Student Poster Competition

The poster competition was open to both undergraduate and graduate students.

Poster guidelines were:

  • Soil science related or soil science adjacent (meaning they could have a soil science component in their study but it might not be entirely soil science)
  • Landscape layout
  • 16:9 aspect ratio
  • Minimum font size of 28 pt
  • Max 600 words
  • Submitted as a PDF
  • Due Friday March 5 by noon
